do you Sell Patterns?:

I do not sell patterns for the quilts that I make and sell on my website. The only quilt patterns I have available are the ones I have listed here on the pattern page of my website. I also have a free nine-patch beginner quilt tutorial available here on my blog. My book Farm & Folk Quilt Alchemy contains 10 quilt/sewing patterns, plus 20 natural dye recipes.

Where can I find your book?

Farm & Folk Quilt Alchemy: A High-Country Guide to Natural Dyeing and Making Heirloom Quilts From Scratch was released on September 26, 2023. The first half of the book is an extensive guide that covers how to naturally dye cotton, linen, and hemp fabric yardage specifically for quilts. It contains 20 of my most colorfast color formula recipes for specific reproducible colors. The second half of the book is dedicated to quilt-making skills and techniques and contains 10 quilt and sewing related projects. The book also explains how to make traditional quilt blocks and quilts from scratch without a pattern.

If you’re in the USA:

I have signed copies available here on my website.

It’s available from my publisher Abrams here or from your favorite local or online bookshop (you may have to request they order it).

You can also find it at Thriftbooks, Bookshop.org, Barnes & Noble, Powell’s, and Books-A-Million.

If you live in Canada you can find it on the Indigo site.

If you’re in Australia or New Zealand you can find it at Booktopia.

For all other international locations, I recommend asking your favorite local bookshop if they can order it for you, and if all else fails check your country’s Amazon website.

Yes, I am currently fully booked for in-person classes for the 2024 season and am working on booking 2025 workshops. Workshops for the 2024 season will be in the PNW in winter, the Midwest in spring, here on my farm in Durango, CO (!!) in the summer, and NY in the fall. Stay tuned for more details! I will announce all workshops via my newsletter first and the following day on Instagram. I’m interested in traveling internationally to teach in 2025 will be teaching a workshop in France (more details soon). Please get in touch by filling out the form on my contact page or emailing me at farmandfolk@gmail.com if you’re interested in hosting me!

I am looking into upgrading my rural internet services so I can teach some live online classes here from my home studio. Stay tuned!

Do you accept commissions?

I’m currently accepting a very limited amount of commissions as I focus on creating new original work. Please email me at farmandfolk@gmail.com if you’re interested in discussing an idea, or fill out the form on my contact page to establish your place on my waiting list.

Do you accept international orders?

Right now my website is set up for orders shipping only to the US and Canada. If you’re outside of these areas and would like to purchase a quilt, please contact me by filling out the form on my contact page and I will provide you with an international shipping quote. I am not able to ship natural dyes or seeds overseas because of customs restrictions related to agricultural products. International buyers are responsible for all tariff and customs fees, and any other additional international shipping fees that may apply. Unfortunately, international shipping insurance is not available. Once the package leaves my care the buyer assumes all risk of shipping loss and damage.

Where do you purchase your undyed fabric?

I am committed to working with sustainably grown organic fibers that are ethically produced. I prefer organically grown linen, organically grown cotton, and hemp fibers. I sometimes use repurposed and vintage natural fibers. My book includes a resource page where I share some of my favorite suppliers.

* At this time I’m unable to keep up with inquiries regarding fabric sourcing. Please, above all, support organic/ethical growers and producers, do some research, and order fabric sample swatches to find the fiber that is going to be best for you.

Shipping disclaimer:

Farm & Folk is not responsible for lost, damaged, stolen, or undelivered packages. US buyers, I’m happy to add shipping insurance for the full value of your package for an additional fee. If your package has gone missing please get in touch and we will do everything we can to help you.
