Flower Fractals
I began this quilt in summer 2024, finished it in winter 2025, and finally got around to photographing and listing it to the website the other day. Truly a slow and prolonged process! Although I often work with traditional blocks, for this piece I designed an original block which I named Flower Fractal. When I sewed all the blocks together and looked at the quilt top it was giving major seeing in fractals vibes.
Flower Fractals!
The first Flower Fractal block I made in August 2024 in my spare time between dye flower harvests.
The finished Flower Fractals quilt top in late summer 2024.
I finished the quilt in winter 2025 and it sat for several months before I finally got around to photographing it for the website.

The varying shades of blue were dyed with indigo. The other colors featured in the quilt came from cutch and logwood. The back is a striped fabric I had in my stash which I over-dyed with cutch, along with a strip of sky blue indigo dyed hemp. The fabrics used throughout the piece are organic cotton, and an organic cotton and hemp blend. The batting is organic cotton. I pieced the quilt with my sewing machine and quilted it by hand with Japanese sashiko thread.

Human for scale!
I’m grateful to say that the quilt has been sold. Going forward I will try to write a post for every quilt I make so I have a record of them all. I wish I had done this right from the start but oh well!
