FAQ’S

  • I do not offer patterns for the one of a kind quilts that I sell in my shop and which you see on my Quilt Archive page. The only patterns I sell are the ones listed here. I have many free quilt making tutorials available on my blog. I also share free weekly quilt block tutorials on the blog which can be found in the Quilt Block Library tab. My book Farm & Folk Quilt Alchemy contains 10 quilt and sewing patterns, plus 20 natural dye recipes. I have signed copies available here on the website or you can purchase a copy from your favorite bookseller.

  • All sales are final. We are unable to accept returns or exchanges at this time. If you have a problem with your order please get in touch by filling out the form on our contact page and we will be happy to assist you.

  • My main focus is currently on farming and creating original quilts in the off season. I am however open to considering taking on commissions. Please email me at farmandfolk@gmail.com if you’re interested in discussing an idea, or fill out the form on my contact page to establish your place on my waiting list.

  • I am committed to working with sustainably grown organic fibers that are ethically produced. I prefer organically grown linen, organically grown cotton, and hemp fibers. I sometimes use repurposed and vintage natural fibers. My book includes a resource page where I share some of my favorite suppliers.

    * At this time I’m unable to keep up with inquiries regarding fabric sourcing. Please, above all, support organic/ethical growers and producers, do some research, and order fabric sample swatches to find the fiber that is going to be best for you.

  • Farm & Folk Quilt Alchemy: A High-Country Guide to Natural Dyeing and Making Heirloom Quilts From Scratch was published on September 26, 2023. The first half of the book is an extensive guide that covers how to naturally dye cotton, linen, and hemp fabric yardage specifically for quilts. It contains 20 of my most colorfast color formula recipes for specific reproducible colors. The second half of the book is dedicated to quilt-making skills and techniques and contains 10 quilt and sewing related projects. The book also explains how to make traditional quilt blocks and quilts from scratch without a pattern.

  • My main focusses are currently rooted in farming natural dyes and creating textiles so I’m scaling back on teaching. I’m teaching a (sold out) 5 day workshop at Sanborn Mills Farm in New Hampshire this May. After that I’lll be taking the rest of 2025 and the entire year of 2026 off from travel teaching. I’m open to considering teaching jobs for 2027. Please get in touch by filling out the form on my contact page or emailing me at farmandfolk@gmail.com for my current rates if you’re interested in hosting me.

I am currently unable to teach online classes with my rural internet situation but hope to be able to offer that service in the future.

  • Right now my website is set up for orders shipping only to the US. Unfortunately I am not able to ship natural dyes or seeds overseas because of customs restrictions related to agricultural products. If you’re outside of the US and would like to purchase a quilt or non-agricultural product, please contact me by filling out the form on my contact page . International buyers are responsible for all tariff and customs fees, and any other additional international shipping fees that may apply. Unfortunately, international shipping insurance is not available. Once the package leaves my care the buyer assumes all risk of shipping loss and damage.

  • Farm & Folk is not responsible for lost, damaged, stolen, or undelivered packages. US buyers, I’m happy to add shipping insurance for the full value of your package for an additional fee. If your package has gone missing please get in touch and we will do everything we can to help you.
