Flower Fractals
Most quilts I make are based on traditional blocks but I designed my own original Flower Fractals block for this piece. I naturally dyed the varying shades of blue with indigo. The other dyes used in this piece are cutch and logwood. The back is indigo dyed and the stripes were naturally dyed with cutch. I also added some gingham from my stash.
This quilt was pieced by sewing machine and then quilted by hand with Japanese sashiko thread. The fabrics are a mix of organic cotton, hemp, and linen.
Measures: 41” x 50”
