WILD HORSES
The fibers in this piece include, organic cotton, organic linen and a linen cotton blend. The back is composed of indigo dyed fabrics, a repurposed shirt, some scraps from my garment sewing scrap basket and a 1960’s era handmade cotton dress that I finally committed to cutting into! That blue and yellow flower dress has been in my stash for at least 10 years. I found it in a vintage shop downtown Chicago and have been saving it for just the right project all these years. The batting is organic cotton and this piece was hand-quilted with Japanese sashiko thread. If you look closely at the photo of the back of the quilt you can see the diagonal quilting pattern. The binding was sewn by hand.
